I would also question any doctor who would prescribe Ambien to an addict, but that's neither here nor there.

If Doc was not under the influence, he surely asked for a blood test (which any citizen should do if they are stopped for DUI and are not under the influence), and if it was a legally prescribed medication, then it's black and white.

But let's stop with this high horse of sources we have, because there is no way in god's green earth that his agent is going to start telling random people what "really" happened. If he is, he's the world's worst agent and should be fired immediately. If he wants to protect his client he should be keeping silent and letting the facts come out through the legal system.

All of that said, even if it does come out that he had relapsed, he should still be inducted on August 1st. As for whether we fans should "forgive" him, we as random fans who do not actually know him are not impacted by his day to day actions and our forgiveness is completely irrelevant to his sobriety and recovery.Carynhttp://www.metsgrrl.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36516653.post-85145466574875209782010-03-27T09:46:37.380-04:002010-03-27T09:46:37.380-04:00Some people are always so quick to judge. In other words, 'Those who live in glass houses....'

I've been a Met fan for over 40 years and Doc Gooden was far and away my favorite pitcher back in the day.
Here's hoping the Mets FO doesn't do something stupid like pull his induction into the Mets HOF. For what he did on the field, what he meant to that team, can't be erased because of personal demons.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36516653.post-10176586573092539862010-03-27T08:05:38.955-04:002010-03-27T08:05:38.955-04:00According to his agent, this latest incident was s...According to his agent, this latest incident was supposedly caused by Ambien, which would explain why he was like this at 8am, I suppose.
