On the Proactive front, news reports surfaced this morning that the Mets have fired Hitting Coach Rick "Syndrome" Down. He was replaced by none other than Jose Reyes favorite Ridin' with Ricky Henderson. Congratulations Ricky, now lets see some positive hitting.

Not clear what Rickey will do and what HoJo will do. Now, letting Down go isn't to me as important as bringing in Rickey. Henderson is credited with helping Reyes become more patient at the plate and giving him some tips on the basepaths. But how important can a coach be anyhow?

The Julio Franco move was long overdue. Also, I saw where we offered a minor league contract to Marlon Anderson after the Dodgers released him.

And Milledge is supposed to start tonight in LF. I'm psychewd!
